Zembla

My work on the pages of Special Zembla was my true beginning as a comic book artist.
In 2001, my friend Chris Malgrain offered me to draw a short story « Conte de la Jungle », whose script was validated by Thierry Mornet (then head editor of Semic and small formats including Special Zembla…). « La nuit d’Halloween » released in May 2002 in Special Zembla 166 has marked my beginning as a comic book artist (it was my very first publication as a professional …). Collector! ^___^

In Special Zembla 173, I drew the end of a story of 3 episodes written by Jean-Marc Lainé, which laid the foundation stones of what Zembla would become… Unfortunately a few months later small formats would disappear.
This 10 pages issue was inked by Chris Malgrain himself… it was the first time (and last time so far) that someone else inked my page … Two issues before (171) we did the opposite, he drew and I inked… a great experience !
